Project Management and Planning

The Nims ERP Team approach to services starts with project management and planning. We take a practical approach and base this on the following principles:

  • Keep things simple as possible, but pay close attention to detail
  • Effective communication
  • Get everyone engaged and involved in the process
  • Clearly define scope of work and roles
  • Establish a realistic timeline and budget
  • Evaluate and Re-evaluate at every phase

Pre-Planning

An important element in the client/advisor relationship that we take seriously, value and appreciate is trust. We understand that when a business is making an investment in advanced accounting software they are putting their profits in our hands. With that in mind, we know what businesses care most about is in the end result. We always begin the implementation process by determining how much help you are going to need to get the job done. The Nims team and stakeholders establish an executive summary to layout the project:

  • Objectives
  • Target dates
  • Roles
  • Budget
  • Evaluation (Assess milestones and measure aptitude)

Implementation

The implementation phase officially begins with a kick off meeting to review the executive summary, make sure everyone understands their delegated role and address any potential roadblocks that may have been missed during pre-planning. A typical Nims ERP implementation is summarized as follows:

  • Blueprint and set up G/L accounts and data migration
  • Installation and standard system set up
  • Customizations (if applicable)
  • Pilot testing
  • Training (Based on the following factors: complexity of system, experience and aptitude of staff)
  • Go Live
  • Post implementation Support (Misc. loose ends, custom reports, etc.)
