Payroll for 2020 R1

Acumatica introduced its new payroll module at their annual summit last week in Las Vegas. The new payroll module replaces the legacy payroll module that was acquired last year from PC Bennet. Like its predecessor the new payroll module is developed on the native development platform-- built from the ground up by the development team at Acumatica with live customers. Acumatica Payroll will be officially available upon release of Acumatica 2020 R1.

Here are some of the distinguishing features in the new payroll:

Easy Override Pay Rates 

Single Screen deduction and benefits

Supports all US Federal, State & Local Taxes

Garnishment Calculations • Direct Deposit or Printed Pay Checks 

Cash Management/Bank Reconciliation updated with payroll payment 

Can enter by pay groups—e.g., by employee, etc.

Can make an adjustment to override a tax adjustment 

Preferences 

       - Garnishment 

       - 401K

       - PTO (Paid Time Off)

       - OT (40-hour rule and weekend rules)

       - Class Compensation – Worker Comp by State 

       - Union Payroll – can tell the system of changes of rates. Also addresses dues and vacation. 

       - Certified Projects – addresses labor items and pay rates, etc. Can tell system which benefits offset fringe benefits.

Future Additions to payroll will come later this year in the 2020 R2 release which will include “piece work”. Note, Acumatica will be contacting customers on the legacy payroll directly in the coming days to provide information on a conversion path to the new payroll in 2020 R1.
